What does Surfacide do?

Surfacide Helios provides an evidence-based, automated UV-C hard surface disinfection system that data indicate eradicates multi-drug resistant organisms including C.diff, MRSA, VRE, CRE and Acinetobacter.

Why Surfacide’s approach is different?

The Surfacide Helios system implements multiple emitters that allows them to disinfect all areas of the healthcare environments in a single cycle including the bathroom.

How does Surfacide work?

Ultraviolet-C

Damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms via photochemical from UV-C disrupts microorganisms cellular DNA. Creating a deactivated non-pathogenic organism’s with no reproductive abilities.

UV-C is the only UV radiation blocked by the earth’s ozone layer, harnessing this energy at its most germicidal effect at 254nm in the UV spectrum kills microorganisms.

Surfacide Helios

Ultraviolet disinfection is a direct line of sight technology. Single emitter systems, simply cannot reach all high touch surfaces in a single disinfection cycle. Relying upon reflected energy to measure, analyse, and determine the proper dose of UV energy is flawed. With Surfacide’s three emitters operating during the same disinfection cycle, no exposed surface is left untouched.

Point to Point disinfection

With the point to point scrub feature, our laser alignment and parabolic concentrator enables Surfacide to do what no other UV system can. The proprietary function allows UV-C energy to be directed into a user defined area. Targeted areas may include multi-bedded bays, portable workstations, surgical tables, etc.

Why use Surfacide?

Reduced Shadows

Three emitters ARE better than one. With three emitters operating during the same disinfection cycle, no surface is left untouched. Single-emitter systems simply cannot reach all high-touch surfaces.

Less Time

Single emitter systems must be re-positioned throughout the room up to FIVE times, resulting in much longer cycle times. Surfacide does not require any additional re-positioning after room set up. One Cycle + efficient delivery of energy results in more thorough disinfection and faster room turn-around. Set it and go.

Three emitters operating during the same disinfection cycle deliver more energy and disinfect the room faster than single-emitter systems. A single side rooms cycle is typically just 20 minutes.

Validation

Surfacide systems are smart systems that “see” every surface, providing confidence that disinfecting energy has been delivered to them all. Our tablet- based data tracking system automatically provides data in real time.

Safety

Every system detects anyone entering the room and shuts off the three towers instantly, ensuring patient, visitor and employee safety.

Training

Our experienced implementation specialists will spend multiple days on-site to ensure your environmental services team is trained and ready to take charge of your UV-C disinfection program.
