Project Background

The building which was used by the NHS Trust for the Pathology team was a rented property. The landlords gave notice for the NHS to vacate the aged building.

We were given 5 days to collate the information and perform the relocation of staff, IT and Network equipment to various temporary sites.

This was a huge challenging project which ideally would have required a longer period of planning.

Bates IT and our partners successfully moved the teams within the requested time scale without disruption to patients, staff and the hospital operation.

Strategy

Site visits were immediately arranged to scope the size of the project. All IT devices and medical equipment had to be documented and the Network requirements investigated.

The heads and members of the Pathology departments were individually interviewed to ensure that their needs were met and that the medical equipment used would perform correctly at the temporary sites.

This was a high risk project with a small planning window to collate all the correct information required.

Results

The department was open and operational with no interference to patients or the services provided within the requested timescale.
